Matangini Hazra Punyatithi is observed on 29 September to remember Matangini Hazra, an Indian freedom fighter who played an active role in the struggle for independence. She participated in movements including the Civil Disobedience Movement and the Quit India Movement. On 29 September 1942, she led a procession towards the Tamluk Police Station while carrying the national flag and was shot by colonial police during the march. Historical records note that she continued advancing with the flag and died that day. The Government of India’s Dictionary of Martyrs: India’s Freedom Struggle (1857–1947) records her participation in the freedom movement and her leadership during the Tamluk action. The occasion is observed as a respectful remembrance of her contribution and sacrifice. Publicity Poster can help create Punyatithi tribute posters, remembrance creatives and social media posts honouring her legacy.
