Hanmant Narhar Joshi Jayanti is observed on 6 April to remember the life and literary contribution of renowned Marathi poet and writer Hanmant Narhar Joshi, popularly known by his pen name Kavi Sudhanshu. Born on 6 April 1917 in Audumber, Maharashtra, he wrote poetry, devotional literature and books for children. His notable works include devotional songs such as “Datta Digambar Daivat Majhe” and “Dev Majha Vitthu Savala.” He also established the Sadanand Sahitya Mandal at Audumber and played an important role in promoting Marathi literary activities. In recognition of his contribution to literature, he was honoured with the Padma Shri in 1974. The occasion provides an opportunity to remember his contribution to Marathi literature and pay respectful tribute to his enduring literary legacy.
